Drawing Areas and Boundaries

Define specific areas on the map to mark project boundaries, flight zones, or areas requiring special attention.

Available Drawing Tools

  • Polygon: Draw custom shapes with any number of points
  • Rectangle: Quick way to draw a bounding box
  • Circle: Define a radius around a central point
  • Line: Mark paths or linear features

Drawing a Polygon

  1. Select the Polygon tool from the toolbar
  2. Click on the map to place the first point
  3. Continue clicking to add more points
  4. Double-click or click the first point to complete the shape
  5. Name and save your area

Editing Drawn Areas

To modify an existing area:

  1. Click on the area to select it
  2. Drag corner points to reshape
  3. Add new points by clicking on the boundary
  4. Delete points by right-clicking on them

Area Types

When saving an area, you can categorize it:

  • Project Boundary: The overall area of your project
  • Flight Zone: Designated safe flight area
  • No-Fly Zone: Areas to avoid
  • Area of Interest: Sections needing special attention

Calculating Area Size

The system automatically calculates and displays the area of your drawn polygons in acres or square feet.
